Clubhouse Bar Finish Date ??
I notice both sets of speakers are still in place one set working one not. There was a bizarre rumour that the non-working speakers were kept as backup in case the new failed - surely not ?? Nearly 12 months ago a new set of speakers and sound system were imminent and I remember mention of a feature wall in the bar. Sadly I might retire before completion - so one last nag please can anyone answer if the end is in sight ????????

The reason the speakers are there is nothing more than the fact that they simply haven't been taken down yet. I believe its only the two remaining in the bar and next time i'm in the club when its quiet i'll get the ladders out and take them down.

Just checked out last years minutes from AGM it seem the sound system will have an AGM anniversary party this year:-)
05.04(b) Ron Wilks and Terry Clowes advised that no audio system had been available or HIFD last Thursday. There had been no communication from Facilities sub committee. The Chairman advised that they are waiting for SEC to wire the system. Justin Churcher offered to help HIFD with a temporary arrangement for next Thursday. The Chairman reminded Ron Wilks that he had agreed to be a member of a three man sub committee briefed to identify a suitable replacement audio system.
Well Mike Mac and I removed them (weeks ago) the cabling still pokes through the ceiling holes the two connection plates are still in situ on the other two. There is no sign of the sound system completing. I could complete the job and fill the holes in and get the paint tin out. Mike has a pot of paint of that colour behind the bar.
Obviously there are problems at the club all round, sad days indeed.
Well zero response so have removed the plates cut wire back to celing by bar and bought some filler ready for next steps in process but about to go on holiday so will have to wait.
I also notice the blinds are still not fixed and are not usable this has been a problem for 6 months now. Perhaps with the Trvia season now closed the Trivia activity pair of people could concentrate on the blinds ????
Holes finally filled walls painted. paint is not a good match needs feature wall re-painting. Cabling removed from hall bar area and behind bar for old sound system speakers. There was a slight delay whilst decking furniture was tackled, job to completed in Spring 2011.
The blind are also finally being fixed well done Ruth Scorey, just the hall photo's to go now. Framed Pennants also now back in the bar. Shame there aren't more doers but get the impression some prefer political activity.
